Planning for the Perfect Paradise

This is the first article in a series of articles known as “Planning for the Perfect Paradise”.

Oh, no. Not again. And so the endless toil begins. Staying up late into the night for hours, laboriously searching, planning, calling, booking, only to find that the sale ended yesterday, and restarting. From the looks of it, you might think I’m describing writing college apps late into the night, or doing some last-minute cramming for finals. Well, if you’d guessed anywhere near there, you’d be absolutely… incorrect.

While the kids are most likely eagerly anticipating the family trip, the adults are panicking and rushing to book hotels and planes before everything gets full. What with writing an itinerary, booking services, and looking into activities, planning the perfect family vacation may seem daunting, inducing more stress and panic than a vacation should. After traveling so much, I’ve become, you could say, acclimated to the aura of importance that surround travel plans. With a little help, maybe you can get used to it to. Read on to find helpful tips and tricks to plan easier and save energy, time, and peace of mind.

Planning an Itinerary

Ask not what you can do for your itinerary, but what your itinerary can do for you.

John F. Kennedy (35th President of The United States)

The first step to planning a vacation is, well…. planning the vacation! Deciding which activities you want to do or which attractions you’ll want to visit can be done through a couple of ways. One way, using an automatic itinerary creator, involves choosing the types of adventures you want to take and then chilling as the travel plan is automatically generated for you. Here are some the FREE trip planners you can use:

  • Inspirock Trip Planner – This website will design your itinerary based on the days you are visiting and the activities that fit your interests. You can also add/remove any activities that you don’t want later.
  • Sygic Maps – An awesome tool with super realistic maps for more seasoned travelers that want to plan an itinerary themselves, but want it to be made easier by this itinerary planner. You can search for destinations yourselves, and Sygic will organize and craft them beautifully for you.
  • TripAdvisor – This list would NOT be complete without travel mogul TripAdvisor. If you’ve heard about it but don’t use it, you should definitely check it out. It’s super helpful when planning trips. If you haven’t heard about it…. Are you living under a rock or something?

And that’s it! You’ve done it! Mission successfully completed. That wasn’t so bad, was it?

Turns out you can easily plan trips with the right resources… or if you’re really that experienced, maybe you’ll take up the challenge and ditch the planners altogether. Whatever happens, I’m sure your trip will turn out to be memorable and exciting.
